VDL opticool system

During periods of high outdoor temperatures livestock will unnecessarily suffer and production results are negatively influenced. To create an optimal climatic condition inside your livestock building during periods of high outdoor temperatures, VDL Agrotech designed the so called opticool system for the closed house systems in hot climate areas. The optimal conditions for livestock rearing are a temperature between 20°C and 25°C with a relative air humidity level of 75%. With the opticool system such a climatic condition inside the livestock building can be achieved, depending on outdoor temperature and humidity.


The pad system

The pad system consists of the following materials:
• The pad itself, made of fluted cellulose sheets with a special chemical treatment to prevent rotting. The unique cross fluted configuration and the high wettability prevent dry spots
and clogging without any drifting problems. To achieve an even distribution of the water supply to the pad, a distribution pad is placed on top of the cooling pad. The pad is available in various thicknesses. 10 and 15 cm thickness for the standard opticool systems.
Height up to 2 meter.
• Frame. The pad system is built into a frame construction, consisting of the gutters on top and bottom and special U-profiles at the side. The complete frame is made of corrosion-proof
metal sheets coated with a plasticol synthetic protection layer.
• During the colder periods the pad can be covered with a protective curtain. Make sure to leave sufficient inlet openings for the incoming air.
